France packaging labels update: The new waste sorting instructions for household packaging “Info Tri” have been approved

The new sorting instructions (Triman together with waste sorting information) as well as the transitional periods for labelling your household packaging have been published.

What will the new sorting instructions look like?

The new sorting instructions are adjustable and available in various formats, sizes and colours. According to CITEO, the user guide on sorting instruction will be available on September 27th, 2021.

Which transitional periods for labelling your household packaging with the new sorting instructions will apply?

The new sorting instructions will be mandatory from January 1st, 2022 and have to be displayed on all household packaging until March 9th, 2023 at the latest. Click on this link to find the applicable transitional periods.

Please note that each EPR field in France (household packaging, WEEE, batteries, furniture, textiles, household waste of chemical products, etc.) will publish its own sorting instructions. This will be the case by November 30th, 2021 at the latest.

Once the sorting instructions of all EPR fields (WEEE, batteries, furniture, textiles, household waste of chemical products, etc.) are published, we will reissue our information leaflet on the labelling of household packaging and products in France and make it available to you.
